You can not find this variety of orchid in the rainforests!
This beautiful orchid was created in 1900 through a lot of intersections with the other three species: Cochlioda, Miltonia and Odontoglossum.
Many think that this plant is among the most beautiful available on the market.
Just under the topsoil is visibike the tuber that has the function of a reserve of water when the plant is subjected to periods of drought.
When it fades, cut the flower stalk to the base if the stem is drying up.
Put it in a place cooler than where it was for about 3/4 months.
After this period, it may develop new buds in spring bloom.
You could put or in a vase of the same color of the flowers to create the effect of tone-on-tone.
Or in a tall glass jar, with the roots and the ground in view.
If you remember nebulizzarla on a daily basis, will have the feeling to receive a pleasant, tropical shower.
You can wet the Cambria immersing the vessel in water at room temperature, let it soak, remove from water and let that drain completely.
The name derives from the belgian Charles Vuylsteker (1844 - 1927), the owner of a huge orchid nursery in Belgium, who created the first to the intersection that gave birth to this species.
In 1911 – 12 he sums up the quality of Odontoglossum crispum, the Miltonia and Cochlioda noetzliana.
All of this happened at the beginning of the 20th century, but only toward their 30 years appears the name “Cambria”, assigned to a next intersection intergenerico, destined to become famous in the years to come: Vuylstekeara Cambria ‘Plush’.

In ancient China, orchids were associated with festivals of spring and were used to ward off evil influences, and in particular the sterility.
The physician Dioscorides recommended to eat the tubers of orchids as a remedy against sterility.
In the middle Ages were attributed to the species of Italian orchids the same properties fecondatrici of which spoke the Ancient, so much so that the roots were used to create the filters and the elixir of love.
The Greeks called the orchid also kosmosandalon, sandal in the world, to the lip swelling that is found in many species spontaneous in the mediterranean area and resembles the tip of a shoe.
But the beauty of the flower of the orchid has also evoked the symbol of Harmony, and even the emblem of spiritual Perfection, because beauty is carnal and earthly, as taught by Plato, is nothing but a materialization of the invisible to our eyes of mortals.
